Index page for the CY Mental Health Learning Outcomes Project The Child and Youth Mental Health Learning Outcomes Project is investigating the competencies required of Child and Youth Workers graduating from formal education programs. These pages contain preliminary results of the project (due for completion in June 2006). Presented are the results of a series of focus group consultations with supervisors and experienced child and youth practitioners about the entry level expectations of child and youth workers in a variety of child and youth mental health programs. Secondly a set of Learning Outcome Standards for competence in the graduating child and youth worker are presented. These standards were developed through a review of existing certification and training documents for child and youth workers in Canada. The final phase of the project involves an analysis of existing post-secondary curricula against these standards.
